Friday KDE Shot by CraazyT Friday KDE Shot by CraazyT
Happy Friday everyone,

I made a few minor changes I made the top panel thinner and removed XBar and replaced it with menubar as XBar wasn't scalling down to this thin without cutting systray icons off (I filed a bug with Thomas about it ;)

OS: Arch Linux
DE: KDE 4.8
Bespin theme is cupertino.100a that comes with svn in the presets folder ( i did tweak it a little)
Plasma Theme: (Mine) "WIP" Colored it gray with a slight gradient. Still working on the theme. It's kind of a mess right now.
Icons: Mak-Lion Taste [link]
WP: By MadeInKobaia [link]
Dock: Cairo-Dock/GLX-Dock

Nice, it looks very minimal.
What is the bashrc config you are using for showing the machine information?

The XBar bug you mention is curious. I'm on a thin panel too (font 'sansation' scaled 7 for Xbar).
Did you try 'kquitapp plasma-desktop & plasma-desktop' on krunner? Or simply log out and log in again...
It worked perfectly to me - it correct automatically the tray icons.
Hehe....I got a bug with menubar instead ! It display only the file entry. Clicking on that and nothing happen! XD

Hmm...I didn't try that small of a font but I will now and yes I logged out heck I even restarted a few time. Thanks for the suggestions ;) I'll let you know if it works :D

I'm glad that helped you! ;)
The font for XBar is the same under "general" in fontconfig of system settings...
Yeah it's kinda unreadable, but i won't change it.
I can be masochist sometimes !

Just like Marc said, it looks very clean! I always say that these awesome KDE shots make want to use it again (and I usually do install it LOL, but I'm so happy with XFCE right now :P)

Especially if you use Arch or Chakra, but something like Kubuntu is still pretty hungry I think :P

Yeah I agree, I only use Arch and on my home computer I use chakra but I heard kubuntu is better than what it used to be.

come back to gnome-shell! I want 3.4 versions of your themes! The autohide gnome panel extension that I like finally got ported to 3.4. All I need now are your themes lol

I wanted to give it a shot yesterday. KDE has so many dependencies! It almost pays to use a distro that has it built in. Well I am debating going back to windows to try litestep. some random guy sent me a message that he is going to make one of my setups on windows in litestep. it has me curious to try it

I'm running kde and gnome on my work computer and it's fine. But yeah it is nice having a kde distro....the only thing I use windows for is some management of systems at work and a few games at home but other than that I'll never use it a my primary OS. Just me though but that sounds cool let me know if he get's it to look like one of yours ;)
